  • Power supply system and method and circuit using the same

    A power supply system uses a DC-DC power converter (28) for supplying an output load. A compensation circuit (40) is connected between the input to the DC-DC converter and the output of the DC-DC converter and it provides a compensating path in response to a voltage drop at the output of the DC-DC converter caused by a surge in the output load. The power supply system further comprises a low drop out regulator (30) as the output load, which low drop out regulator (30) having an input connected to the DC-DC power converter and the compensation circuit, and an output connected to an output terminal (C) for connection to a further output load. This enables the DC-DC power converter to have a low current capability, because a large current demand can be met by the DC supply to the DC-DC converter.

  • Access optimization method for main memory database based on page-coloring

    An access optimization method for a main memory database based on page-coloring is described. An access sequence of all data pages of a weak locality dataset is ordered by page-color, and all the data pages are grouped by page-color, and then all the data pages of the weak locality dataset are scanned in a sequence of page-color grouping. Further, a number of memory pages having the same page-color are preset as a page-color queue, in which the page-color queue serves as a memory cache before a memory page is loaded into a CPU cache; the data page of the weak locality dataset first enters the page-color queue in an asynchronous mode, and is then loaded into the CPU cache to complete data processing. Accordingly, cache conflicts between datasets with different data locality strengths can be effectively reduced.

  • OLAP query processing method oriented to database and HADOOP hybrid platform

    An OLAP query processing method oriented to a database and Hadoop hybrid platform is described. When OLAP query processing is performed, the processing is executed first on a main working copy, and a query processing result is recorded in an aggregate result table of a local database; when a working node is faulty, node information of a fault-tolerant copy corresponding to the main working copy is searched for through namenode, and a MapReduce task is invoked to complete the OLAP query processing task on the fault-tolerant copy. The database technology and the Hadoop technology are combined, and the storage performance of the database and the high expandability and high availability of the Hadoop are combined; the database query processing and the MapReduce query processing are integrated in a loosely-coupled mode, thereby ensuring the high query processing performance, and ensuring the high fault-tolerance performance.

  • Slam induced loads on bow-flared sections with various roll angles

    The two-dimensional water entry of a bow-flared section with different roll angles is studied by using an explicit finite element code. The modelling technique of the fluid-structure interaction adopts a multi-material Arbitrary Lagrangian-Eulerian formulation and a penalty coupling method. The simulated vertical slamming force and pressure histories are compared with experiments and other numerical calculations. The effects of the roll angle on the slamming load are studied through simulations for a bow-flare section with different roll angles.

  • Cases and statistical study on Hot Flow Anomalies with Cluster spacecraft data

    Hot Flow Anomalies (HFAs) are phenomena that frequently appear in the vicinity of the Earth's bow shock. We have identified 765 HFA events with Cluster spacecraft data from 2003 to 2009. We study the plasma and magnetic field variations during typical HFAs. Then we study the average structure of HFAs using the superposed epoch method during a 200 s time interval, with the HFA onset time as the epoch time. The results show that HFAs can be classified into four classes based on variations of the dynamic pressure over time, namely ldquo-+rdquo (down-up), ldquo+-rdquo (up-down), ldquoMrdquo (up-down-up) and ldquoWrdquo (up-down-up-down-up), where the letters represent similar shapes with the variation trends of the dynamic pressure. Trends of other parameters are highly related to those of the dynamic pressure with obvious characteristics of the classification. Moreover, statistical results suggest that the number of HFA events varies in years. Compared with the speed of solar wind and sunspot number, the number of HFA events in each year has positive correlation with the former, while it has little relation with the latter. The result of this paper will provide data base for further studies on the mechanisms of the formation, the structural evolution and other relative questions of HFAs.

  • Method and device for data relay transmission in wireless relay network

    A method and a device for data relay transmission in a wireless relay communication network are provided, in which, the relay station directly obtains corresponding egress CID related information based on input MAC PDUs, then generates output MAC PDUs including the egress CID related information, and at last, according to the egress CID related information, performs QoS scheduling for the output MAC PDUs, so as to output them in an sequence of QoS. The invention omits the steps of de-cascading, de-segmenting or de-capsulating the MAC PDUs in order to obtain MAC SDUs, and the steps of scheduling by category, cascading, segmenting, and encapsulating the MAC SDUs in order to re-generate the MAC PDUs in the prior art, and the invention simplifies the data processing procedure and achieves the goal of decreasing the relay latency.

  • Screening of Substrates of Protein Arginine Methyltransferase 1 in Glioma

Co-Immunoprecipitation (Co-IP), western blot, and sliver staining were employed to screen the candidate binding proteins of PRMT1. Then liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) was used to identify the binding proteins of PRMT1.ResultsThe expression of PRMT1 and some levels of ADMA were higher in glioma cell lines than in normal brain tissues. After knocking down PRMT1, some ADMA levels were found declined. After screening the binding proteins of PRMT1 with Co-IP and LC-MS/MS, 26 candidate binding proteins were identified. Among them, 6 candidate proteins had higher ions scores (>38) and bioinformation analysis predicted that SEC23-IP, ANKHD1-EIF4EBP3 protein, and 1-phosphatidylinositol-3-phosphate 5-kinase isoform 2 had possible methylated aginine sites.ConclusionsThe high expression of PRMT1 in glioma may induce the change of ADMA levels. Altogether 26 candidate proteins were identified, which contain ADMA and specifically bind with PRMT1.

    Objective: This study aims to assess the effects of low-dose benzene on DNA damage and O6-methylguanine-DNA methyltransferase (MGMT) methylation in occupational workers.Materials and methods: We recruited 96 nonsmoking male petrochemical industry workers exposed to low-dose benzene and 100 matched control workers. Urinary S-phenylmercapturic acid (SPMA) and S-benzylmercapturic acid (SBMA) were measured for indicating internal exposure of benzene and toluene. The degree of DNA damage was determined by the Comet assay. The levels of MGMT methylation were detected quantitatively by bisulphite-PCR pyrosequencing assay.Results: The benzene-exposed workers had significantly higher levels of urinary SPMA, degree of DNA damage but decreased MGMT methylation than the controls (all p < 0.05). In contrast, the level of urinary SBMA does not differ between benzene-exposed workers and the controls. In all participants, MGMT methylation was negatively associated with the urinary SPMA and the degree of DNA damage, indicating that epigenetic regulation might be involved in response to low-dose benzene exposure-induced genetic damage.Discussion and conclusion: MGMT methylation could be a potent biomarker associated with low-dose benzene exposure and benzene-induced DNA damage.

    With the development of relational database, people require better database not only in the aspect of database performance, but also in the aspect of the database’s interactive ability. So that the database is much more friendly than just before and it is possible for a common user who do not have any special knowledge on database can access the database, without knowing the schema of database and writing intricate SQL. For the reason that the information retrieval on the web has developed well to some extent, when we develop the technology of keyword search in relational database, we can draw some ideas from information retrieve. But the great differences between the text database on the web and the relational database also bring some new challenges: 1) The answer needed by user is not only one tuple in database, but the tuple sets consisting of the tuple connect from different table using the “primary key-foreign key” relationship. 2)The results of the evaluation criteria is more important, because it is directly related to the effectiveness of Search System. 3)The structure of relational database is much more intricate than text database, and the algorithms of information retrieval are not fit the relational database. So in this paper, we introduce a novel keyword search algorithm and a modified criteria of evaluating answers in order to enhance efficiency of the keyword search and return much more effective information to users, finally, the search algorithm’s performance is tested and evaluated.

  • Lightweight Data Mining Based Database System Self-optimization: A Case Study

    With the system becoming more complex and workloads becoming more fluctuating, it is very hard for DBA to quickly analyze performance data and optimize the system, self optimization is a promising technique. A data mining based optimization scheme for the lock table in database systems is presented. After trained with performance data, a neural network become intelligent enough to predict system performance with newly provided configuration parameters and performance data. During system running, performance data is collected continuously for a rule engine, which chooses the proper parameter of the lock table for adjusting, the rule engine relies on the trained neural network to precisely provide the amount of adjustment. The selected parameter is adjusted accordingly. The scheme is implemented and tested with TPC-C workload, system throughput increases by about 16 percent.
