  • APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR CHARACTERIZING A TISSUE OF A SUBJECT

The present invention proposes an apparatus and method for characterizing a tissue in a first region of a subject. The apparatus comprises a receiving unit (210) for receiving ultrasound data of the tissue in the first region and ultrasound data of a predetermined target reference tissue of said subject; a deriving unit (220) for deriving a subject-specific model of the target reference tissue on the basis of the ultrasound data of the target reference tissue; and a characterizing unit (230) for determining a match between tissue in the first region and the target reference tissue on the basis of the subject-specific model and ultrasound data of the tissue in the first region. Unlike conventional tissue characterization based on a large cohort of patient data, the proposed subject-specific model is personalized for the specific subject without any generalization, resulting in higher sensitivity and/or accuracy. Preferably, the subject-specific model of the target reference tissue is derived on the basis of both the ultrasound data of the target reference tissue and the ultrasound data of a background reference tissue of a different type than the target reference tissue.

  • DISTRIBUTED NETWORK NODE OPERATION SYSTEM BASED ON OPERATION CONTROL UNIT

Disclosed is a distributed network node operation system based on an operation control unit. The operation system runs on a network node and directly interacts with a data link layer. The operation system comprises: an application interface unit, a network information management unit, a file unit, a task scheduling unit, and a device driver management unit. The application interface unit packages services provided by the file unit, the task scheduling unit, and the network information management unit into an interface interacting with a protocol stack management unit. The network information management unit and the data link layer interact so as to schedule a link to transfer information and update node data. The file unit is configured to manage and store file information. The task scheduling unit is configured to manage hardware resources. The device driver management unit is configured to manage application drivers of underlying devices, and call different protocol stack library functions by means of different application drivers so as to realize computability between multiple communication modes and protocols.

  • Missing in total OH reactivity of VOCs from gasoline evaporation

Wu, Ying   Yang, Yu-Dong   Shao, Min   Lu, Si-Hua

Abstract Gasoline evaporation is an important anthropogenic source of atmospheric volatile organic compounds (VOCs). Total OH reactivity for gasoline vapor was measured from 4 kinds of gasoline for the first time by comparative reactivity method (CRM) using proton transfer reaction mass spectrometer (PTR-MS). Compositions of 56 PAMS (photochemical assessment monitoring station) nonmethane hydrocarbons (NMHCs) were measured for both liquid and headspace of gasoline. We found high abundance of alkenes and aromatics in gasoline. The calculated OH reactivity derived from quantified NMHCs speciation accounted for only 57 ± 4% of total reactivity obtained from CRM method. N-Alkenes, only 6 wt% in liquid gasoline, contributed to 70% of calculated reactivity. We assume that the undetected branched alkenes are the possible reason for the missing reactivity. We suggest that the priority of gasoline quality improvement is to reduce alkenes content in gasoline in term of reactivity-based control. Graphical abstract We found (1) missing OH reactivity existed in gasoline evaporation, and (2) alkenes contributed majority of reactivity. The calculated OH reactivity derived from quantified NMHCs speciation accounted for only 57 ± 4% of direct measured total OH reactivity obtained from CRM method. N-Alkenes, only 6 wt% in liquid gasoline, contributed to 70% of calculated reactivity.
