CONTINUOUS ACIDOLYSIS PROCESS OF CITRATE

Abstract(summary):

Disclosed is a continuous acidolysis process of citrate comprising: 1) a first-order reaction: the acidolysis reaction of calcium citrate by sulfuric acid is carried out in a main reactor at pH 1-5; 2) a second-order reaction: sulfuric acid or calcium citrate is fed to control the pH of the reaction at 0.5-4, and the acidolysis reaction is carried out in a secondary reactor; 3) a third-order reaction: sulfuric acid or calcium citrate is fed to control the pH of the reaction at 1.5-2.5, and the acidolysis reaction is carried out in a tertiary reactor; and 4) a solid-liquid separation: the products of the acidolysis reaction are solid-liquid separated to give citric acid acidolysis liquid and solid calcium sulfate. The process provides the advantages of continuous operation, high automation level, stable quality of the intermediates, high concentration of the acidolysis liquid, and low content of impurity ions and so on.
