Abstract(summary):

The complex and diverse mechanisms of acupuncture analgesia are summarized from the following two aspects: the neural mechanisms (neurophysiology mechanism, neurochemistry mechanism and neuroanatomy mechanism) and the non-nerve mechanisms (connective tissue mechanism and local biochemical change mechanism). Initial analysis are also carried out on the individual deficiencies of diverse mechanisms, the contradictions among different diverse mechanisms as well as the causing factors, and suggestions are proposed accordingly.
