IEEE Computer Graphics and Applications

Issue Date:
1985

Abstract(summary):

The authors introduce a data-flow language for intelligent graphics displays as a conceptual model for such applications as multiple robot arm control. The model is constructed from the `bottom up', and is an extension of the ANSI/X3/SPARK three-schema model for the database organization design. The authors list the features needed to support a conceptual model; formally introduce a DFIG, or Data Flow Language for Intelligent Graphic displays; and state the requirements the model satisfies. They describe the implementation of DFIG on the PS300 graphics display system. Finally, they describe mapping of the sample application in the robot arm control for assembly into the DFIG model
