Abstract(summary):

Simulations of typical offshore pressure vessels exposed to fire have been performed using the commercial software VessFire. A Pressure Safety Valve will not always remove or reduce the risk of rupture, when a flame is impinging on a vessel. The application of a Blowdown Valve or Passive Fire Protection was able to prevent rupture in most simulated cases.
