Presents an obituary paying tribute to neurologist J. Stephen Fink. Description of Fink as a neurologist who led Boston University's neurology department and was a leader in academia and industry. Born May 30, 1950, in New Haven, Connecticut, USA. He died from a brain tumor aged 52 years in Wellesley, Massachusetts, on Dec 30, 2002. Fink's combination of talents and experience allowed him to make major contributions in the neurobiology of neurodegenerative diseases. At the time of his death, he was finalizing the agenda for the American Society for Experimental NeuroTherapeutics (ASENT) fifth national conference, to be held in March, as chair of the program committee. He was also involved early on in the Parkinson's Study Group and in the Huntington's Study Group, and led important trials.
