Abstract(summary):

Provided is a tapered roller bearing that has a long service life and high durability. The tapered roller bearing is provided with an outer ring, an inner ring, and a plurality or rollers (1012) that are tapered rollers. The outer ring has an outer ring raceway surface in the inner circumferential surface thereof. The inner ring has an inner ring raceway surface in the outer circumferential surface thereof and is arranged inside the outer ring. The plurality of rollers (1012) are arranged between the outer ring raceway surface and the inner ring raceway surface and comprise a rolling surface that is in contact with the outer ring raceway surface and the inner ring raceway surface. At least one of the outer ring, the inner ring, and the plurality of rollers comprises a nitrogen-enriched layer (1012B) formed on the outer ring raceway surface, the inner ring raceway surface, or the surface layer of the rolling surfaces. The prior austenite grain size in the nitrogen-enriched layer (1012B) by grain size number according to the JIS standard is 10 or more. The distance T1 from the outermost surface of the surface layer to a bottom section of the nitrogen-enriched layer (1012B) is 0.2 mm or more. Logarithmic crowning (1022A) is formed on the rolling surfaces of the rollers (1012).
