Tribological wear behaviour of Mg-Y alloy in as cast and ECAP'ed condition has been studied using a pin on disk wear testing machine under the load of 10N & 50N with a sliding temperature of 25 degrees,50 degrees and 100 degrees C with a sliding velocity of 0.3 m/s and sliding distance of 3000m. ECAP was done at a temperature of 350 degrees C up to 4 passes using the route B-c. It was observed that, wear rate was decreasing with increase in the temperature and wear rate was increasing with increase in the applied load after the ECAP. Rockwell hardness test was used to evaluate the hardness of the sample. It was found that, hardness of the alloy was increased nearly about 85% after four ECAP pass which may be due to the grain refinement.
