Aim To study the chemical constituents of Saussurea eopygmaea. Methods The chemical constituents were isolated and purified by various chromatographic techniques. Their structures were determined on the basis of physical properties and spectroscopic data. Results Seventeen compounds were isolated and elucidated as octacosyl alcohol (1), hexatriacontanol (2), umbelliferone (3), scopoletin (4), isoscopoletin (5), 1, 3, 7, 8-tetrahydroxyxanthone (6), cinnamic acid (7), stigmasterol (8), campesterol (9), cholesterol (10), β-sitosterol (11), apigenin (12), acacetin (13), deacylcynaropicrin (14), kandavanolide (15), acetylation of kandavanolide (16) and robustaflavone 4′, 4″'-dimethyl ether (17). Conclusion Compounds 1–13 and 15–17 were isolated from the title plant for the first time.
